Hargeisa — Somaliland's foreign ministry confirmed this week that new representative offices will open in three additional capitals, part of a sustained diplomatic push that officials say has gained fresh momentum since the Berbera corridor deals.

Presenting the plan to lawmakers, the minister argued that recognition should be treated less as a symbolic prize than as a pragmatic step tied to counter-piracy cooperation, port logistics and Red Sea security.

Opposition figures welcomed the expansion but pressed for clearer benchmarks on when offices should be upgraded to full missions.
