IGAD stands up a cross-border task force after weekend clashes near Dolow
The mechanism gives Somalia, Ethiopia and Kenya a shared operations room to defuse border incidents within hours rather than days.

Addis Ababa — IGAD announced Monday that a standing cross-border task force is now operational, with a shared liaison cell in Addis Ababa and forward officers in Mandera, Dolow and Moyale.
The move follows weekend clashes between local militias near Dolow that briefly closed the main crossing and stranded fuel tankers on both sides of the border.
Diplomats say the task force is deliberately narrow — it does not touch the Red Sea access dispute — but is meant to prove that Horn states can manage flashpoints without waiting for outside mediation.
